The Charter School of Wilmington held its prom last Friday, April 24th, at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark. After photos, students arrived at 7 to be greeted by President Bartnik and professional photographers at the door. Country club staff served penne and champagne chicken once the attendees settled into the venue, with Shirley Temples and a dessert bar punctuating the dancing throughout the night.
When asked about her experience, junior Adithi Sarikonda emphasized how excited she had been for prom, especially after planning her outfit and photos.
“I’d always wondered what prom would be like as a freshman, and planning for it was almost half of the fun,” she said. “But the actual experience was just as good.”
Besides joining the mosh pit, students took the opportunity to walk outside with their friends, talk over dinner, and take photos at an arcade-style photo booth, all courtesy of student government’s hard work planning the event. The student body’s elected officials have been carefully organizing the dance for several months, and their efforts did far from disappoint. From juniors experiencing the event for the first time to seniors having their last hurrah, prom 2026 was certainly a night to remember.
