Civarelli in D.C.

Last week, Mr. Civarelli traveled to Washington, D.C. to take part in Language Advocacy Days 2026, joining educators and advocates from across the country to support policies that strengthen world language education.

Serving as Delaware’s delegate to the Joint National Committee for Languages through the Delaware Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, Mr. Civarelli met with staff from the offices of Senator Chris Coons, Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, and Representative Sarah McBride. The conversations focused on the importance of multilingualism for Delaware students and the role federal support can play in expanding access to language programs.

The experience provided an opportunity to bring the voice of Delaware educators and students into national discussions about education. It also highlighted the importance of language learning in preparing students to engage in an increasingly connected world.

CSW is proud to have educators like Mr. Civarelli representing the school and advocating for students beyond the classroom.
