The Charter School of Wilmington Cross Country team had an outstanding showing at the Diamond State Athletic Conference (DSAC) Championship Meet at Bellevue State Park, and one runner stood out at the front of the pack — Brandon Williams, who claimed first place in the boys varsity race to become the 2025 DSAC Conference Champion!
Brandon’s victory capped off a day full of strong performances and personal bests across the team. His hard work and dedication all season long paid off in a major way, as he led the field from start to finish with determination and focus.
The girls team also had an incredible meet, with Veronica Kamenitzer (3rd), Ginny Hendrixson (5th), and Abigail Adeyanju (7th) all finishing in the top 10 of the varsity race. In the JV division, Bri Knight (CAB student) took first, with Sydney Love (3rd) and Ava Bentzinger (7th) close behind.
Both boys teams (varsity and JV) earned 3rd place overall, while the girls teams (varsity and JV) finished 2nd overall — an impressive performance all around.
The team now looks ahead to the County Championship Meet next Saturday, once again at Bellevue State Park. Be sure to come out and cheer them on as they continue their strong season!
