This course focuses on the causes and consequences of human behavior and structure. Emphasis is placed on socialization, social stratification, culture, norms, change, heredity, environment, family, and social institutions. Students also study the relationship between the brain and behavior, human emotions and thephysical and social influences affecting them, various states of consciousness including sleep and dream analysis, methods of learning, the stages of human development, the development of personality, and psychological disorders.
(Open to grades 9-12 but preference given to grades 11-12)
