Objective #1 as approved by Middle States:
By the year 2016, the students at the Charter School of Wilmington will have continued college preparation expectations and success as demonstrated by the number of students who return to their 2nd year of college. We will use this data to determine opportunities for improvement in our program that we can change to maintain our student success in college and meet our school’s mission.
The measurement for Objective 1:
1. It is expected that 97% of our graduating seniors will attend college from high school. The national average for college students who return to their 2nd year of college is 68% at public universities based on A.C.T., 2008 Retention/Completion Summary Tables. We will use the Student Tracker
database to determine the percentage of our students who start their 2nd year of college. Our goal is to remain at or above the national average of returning college students.
Note: For colleges not listed on Student Tracker, the school will do a separate communication with those students to determine their college status.
a. Baseline: 2006 graduates
- 2006 graduates: 214
- 2006 graduates to attend college: 210
